"Everyone makes mistakes, all the time. It's through these successive failures that any sort of progress can be made."

The logical step beyond the previous album, Life is Pain, the songs on Successive Failures were originally intended to be a compilation of a variety of fake bands that were all the same person. Running from twinkly emo to grindcore to math rock to slam and groove metal, Successive Failures is the product of three years of musical development. This album is intentionally sequenced to contain two complementary halves that each follow a similar musical progression.

Specific songs by other bands that influenced songs here, consciously or otherwise, are noted on said songs.
